Law & Order: CI – Goldblum’s Health?

(Click for full size. (left) Jeff Goldblum [Zach Nichols] in the Law & Order: CI episode “In Treatment” (right) in the episode “Mobster”.)

This isn’t a Law & Order: CI rant, this is a real deal thing. It looks like the show has tired Jeff Goldblum now as well. As you can tell from the image to the left (over a year ago) this is Goldblum from the episode of CI titled “In Treatment” in which Jeff looks young-ish and chipper (so to speak). And when I think most fans enjoyed the character Zach Nichols.

And the image to the right is of him in “The Mobster Will See You Now”. We see he’s a bit paler in the face, you can see some grey hairs, a few wrinkles starting, ‘bags under his eyes’. And the character’s personality has changed from the previous eighth season. This season (IMO) Zach Nichols is bland and boring. A complete ‘snore-fest’, if you would.

Now I don’t know how Jeff Goldblum is feeling as far as taping episodes… but the way he looks from season eight to currently says alot. CI ran down D’Onofrio, Jamey Sheridan, Eric Bogosian (you could tell it was starting to) , and now starting Jeff Goldblum. For some odd reason Kathryn Erbe, Chris Noth, Annabella Sciorra (who was with the cast a year), Julianne Nicholson, and even Alicia Witt (who was only with the cast a few months) maintained themselves. If CI sees a decade season; how will the current cast look by the end of it?

Not all of it is make-up. The stars of the show try to keep it going with it’s mockery ratings (only to tire themselves, the way the show is going) if they want too.

Well if Goldblum decides to leave at the end of the current season, the show is finished.

The show really just needs to be canceled after episodes 9.15/9.16 – I mean really. Tonight’s episode was too much on Nichols to me. I would have rather seen an episode like “Lost Children of the Blood”!

And Jeff’s health isn’t looking to good you know. He seemed more high-spirited last season. I know his character is supposed to be ‘mourning over Ross’ but come on, the writers took the episodes this season to the bland extremes!
